Thank Routeco It's Friday! (TRIF)

Don’t worry be ‘Appy now…!

The weekend is just around the corner, and I am hoping for some sunshine so we can sit out in the garden and maybe have a BBQ (I know, I know – I have probably jinxed the weather now!) So before the weekend starts, enjoy this week’s TRIF blog!

I am sure most of you have a smartphone, I know I am glued to mine! I have only had an iPhone for a few months but I have already downloaded a lot of apps.

My favourites are: Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat to connect with my friends, and also BBC News for keeping up to date with the latest current affairs.

Other apps that I would highly recommend include SkyView, Starbucks, and My Fitness Pal.

There are so many to choose from, I am never too sure on what to download. Personally, I don’t enjoy gaming, so that takes a good few out of the equation.

Several of our franchises have now developed apps, allowing you to control applications remotely and check on the status of your machinery.

Let me know what your favourite apps are. Do you use any for business use? Can you recommend any to download?

Have a fantastic weekend!

London Marathon, Michael's Challenge...

Before you read this blog please take a moment to think about everyone in Boston. Our thoughts are with you.

For me, April is associated with several different things – Easter, Spring weather…and the London Marathon! Now, as a child I used to watch this at my grandparents’ house and proceed to run laps around their garden afterwards in my own “mini marathon”.

This year, our very own Michael McGuinness has been in intensive training getting ready for this Sunday (21st April), as he will be running the gruelling 26 miles and 385 yards! Come rain, shine, snow or ice he has been out training hard – with mere (!) 18 mile practice runs at the weekends.

However, this is all for a worthy cause.

Michael will be running the marathon for MK Snap (www.mksnap.com) this is a centre run to help young people with disabilities and learning difficulties. MK Snap provide the opportunity to become more independent, take on employment and be part of a community.

Every little helps - If you would like to donate towards this, please visit Michael’s just giving page here http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/MichaelMcG
Why not leave Michael your messages of support in the comment box below!

Have a great weekend!

Technology – can you live without it?

Now, I don’t know if you are anything like me, but I cannot imagine not having my iPhone glued to my hand and my laptop on in the background. I live on these both for work and to chat to my friends, shop, watch films – the list goes on and on... However, I did manage a month without any form of technology whilst backpacking in Mongolia – so I know I can do it!
Today everything seems to revolve around technology, every industry uses it in one form or another – even primary schools have iPads in their classrooms! I can communicate with my friend in Australia any time I want with the click of a button and do my internet shopping whilst on the train.
Within the Marketing department we decided that the technology we don't think we can function without are:
  • iPhone
  • Mac
  • Laptop
  • iPod
What technology could you not live without? Try it for one day – go on I dare you!

Rittal Cuponal Busbar

Rittal’s Cuponal busbar is a copper-coated aluminium busbar, it is available in lengths of 2400, which can offer customers several advantages over traditional busbar systems. Suitable for installation in standard Rittal tested busbar supporting systems, the Cuponal busbar is available in the following sizes and current rating:
  • 20 x 5mm 235A
  • 20 x 10mm 363A
  • 30 x 5mm 328A
  • 30 x 10mm 493A
Busbars are usually made from copper, however, savings through lower costs, lighter weight and simplified handling can be made by the use of other materials such as aluminium and cuponal.
Cuponal is a bi-metal composite material for use as electrical connection in switch cabinets, switchboards and distribution boards.
A core of aluminium is pressed with a coat of copper, so that both form an inseparable unit. This will allow the positive characteristics of electronically highly conductive copper with the light weight of aluminium combined optimally.
