Milton Keynes Motion Control Technical Workshops

On Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th November, Milton Keynes’ Area Sales Manager Phil Huntley organised for customers to spend the morning at Routeco Head Office for a Rockwell Automation Motion Control Technical Workshops.

The two days gave engineers the opportunity to develop an understanding of Rockwell Automation’s Logix control and motion platform through hands-on exercises using PLCs, Variable Speed Drives, Remote I/O, Motion Controllers, HMI, Safety and Ethernet/IP products.

Both workshops were fully subscribed and we received some excellent feedback from attendees. Thank you to everyone who attended and Routeco’s Product Sales Specialists’: Colin Wayman, Kevin Johnson and Chris Coe who delivered fantastic workshops.

Check out the video here to get an overview of what happened across the two days and to get an insight into how the whole process works and what to expect from one of our technical workshops.

88 Miles in the saddle – extra, extra mile result

Hot on the ‘wheels’ of the Routeco Peterborough team who cycled 500 miles through France, Product Sales Specialist Rob Stebbings decided to undertake his own personal challenge and cycle from one Routeco branch in Bristol, to another in Southampton!

The route in total was 88 miles and Rob raised an impressive £285 for Cancer Research UK and £71.25 for charities including the Milton Keynes Foundation.

Rob found cycling through Bristol quite stop-start and looked forward to joining the Bristol to Bath cycle path and being able to continue his route without the distraction of cars. Navigating a few large hills and a diversion the journey was quite straightforward and uneventful.

Rob said: “Once the Brickfield Lane Estate came into view I realised I’d done it and made it! I’ve never been so pleased to see the branch! It was a really great experience.”

Well done to Jonathan Bye, Automation and Software PSS Team Leader, who also cycled from Dartford to Southampton and Chris Coe, Automation & Software Product Sales Specialist, who did the equivalent of Glasgow to Peterlee around East Anglia!

Buy one CISCO training course place and get a second half price!

As organisations recognise the value of converging the industrial plant floor with their IT infrastructure, the gap in the skills that are required to manage such a convergence is becoming apparent.

Before organisations can realise the significant benefits to be achieved in quality, safety, timeliness and customer satisfaction, their Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) professionals need to understand the significant complexities of the converged environment.

Together, Rockwell Automation and Cisco have developed a training and certificate portfolio that is optimised for each side of the equation, IT and OT, providing the skills that are required to securely converge the network architecture with maximum efficiency and return on investment, enabling organisations to transform their business and gain a competitive edge.

The training will be held at the Rockwell Automation Training Centre in Kiln Farm, Milton Keynes.

Register today for Rockwell Automation’s Technical Workshop series

Experience the benefits of building effective control systems using Integrated Architecture from Rockwell Automation.

Traditional control systems can require separate control structures for each part of the application but using Rockwell Automation’s Integrated Architecture, control systems are connected, scalable and information enabled, simplifying maintenance, reducing design and implementation times and providing a seamless and secure connection to other business systems.

The Technical Workshop series provides engineers with the opportunity to develop an understanding of Rockwell Automation’s Logix control platform through hands-on exercises using PACs, Variable Speed Drives, Remote I/O, Motion Controllers, HMI, Safety and Ethernet/IP products and the chance to convert from an SLC program to Logix.

Integrated Architecture
Integrated Architecture links a host of compatible devices enabling machine builders and end users alike to benefit from increased control systems capability. Using a single platform, CompactLogix, a versatile controller and a suite of integrated products, you can now drastically reduce development and commissioning time. The latest 5370 CompactLogix controllers are featured in these workshops.
