Rockwell Automation's Software FactoryTalk VantagePoint EMI v4.5 now offers more reporting options including Enterprise Reporting, in addition to charts, trends, dashboards and analysis tools. Also, use eventing and notifications to have scheduled reports sent via email or SMS for better access to information in time to make critical decisions.

 
Only FactoryTalk VantagePoint EMO collects, aggregates and correlates disparate data from manufacturing and production processes and business systems.
 
New Features:

• Access to the Model for Enterprise Reporting - Leverages SQL Server Technology to allow SQL Queries of the VantagePoint Model or use with reporting tools like SSRS
• Eventing/Notification - Get a report/email/SMS based on event triggers: items changing in the VantagePoint Model; or on a schedule
• User Access Control - Improved security and configuration for the Portal and Excel Add-in based on the user roles

GHG 52 Series Industrial Plugs and Receptacles from CEAG

Cooper Crouse-Hinds, has launched the GHG 52 series of industrial plugs and receptacles, which are suitable for harsh and heavy industrial environments, including marine and shipbuilding, mining and quarrying, metal processing, oil & gas, transportation, and renewable energy applications.

The GHG 52 series includes plugs, couplers, wall sockets (with or without interlocking switch) and flange sockets.The GHG 52 series 1 offers a broad range of plugs and receptacles, from 16A up to 125A.

Series 1 plugs and receptacles are available in 16A (3, 4 and 5-pole) up to 415V, 32A (4 and 5-pole) up to 415V, 63A (4 and 5-pole) up to 690V, and 125A (4 and 5-pole) up to 690V.

• Manufactured to IEC 60309-1/2 standards
• Operate in ambient temperatures from -20 deg C to +40 deg C
• Protected to IP66, even in their plugged-in state
• GHG 52 wall sockets with interlock switch offer high impact resistance
• Wall sockets are protected by a glass fibre-reinforced polyester housing
• Plugs and couplers are made from glass fibre strengthened polyamide
• The series has low engaging forces

The GHG 52 series provides a variety of technical benefits, including high impact resistance, high durability and resistance to chemicals including UV resistance & antistatic features. Plugs are available with self-cleaning, multi-lamella contact designs with low transition resistance.

A variety of mounting accessories including plates, plug caps and protective canopies are also available to enable units to be fixed to walls, pipes and trellises. As well as the standard product range, custom engineered plugs and receptacles are also available on request, including extended temperature and voltage ranges, as well as plugs with nickel-plated brass pins.

Rockwell Automation have extended the ratings of its Allen-Bradley 755 AC drives to 1500kW/2000Hp, completing the PowerFlex 750 series portfolio and providing customers with a wide selection of options and features. The high-power drive builds on the application flexibility and common user experience of the PowerFlex 750 series, giving heavy industries a new option for advanced power control.

Routeco's Packaged Solutions Strategy

Our Packaged Solutions Strategy is unique in terms of scope and resource.  As a direct result of our consultancy service and supply chain solutions, many diverse businesses have gained significant benefits with dramatic improvements in business efficiencies, cost savings and the deployment of “best of breed” technology.

This case study shows the packaged solutions strategy used to resolve customers issues.

The issues raised by the Hot Stamp Label making systems company include: the increasing costs of electrical materials; not owning the control technology due to the original use of 3^rd party engineering; and the lack of standardisation across products.

The packaged solutions team assessed these issues and proposed several changes to solve them. The proposed solutions included: Routeco engineering resource to engage and understand technical issues and short to long term machine design aspiration; Routeco to examine the purchasing history and convert products to best technical solution at the lowest cost; Customer creates design spread-sheet and loads to Routeco website for live priced quotations.

These solutions were considered by the customers and the results were:

• From 12 suppliers to 3
• Previously 2 man days to kit machines BOM’s from store – now 0 days as it is delivered straight to the shop floor
• New machine designs are now the fastest on the market with the customers owning a solution that exceeded expectation

SMS and email Relay from eWON

Alarm notifications, provided in the eWON CD line of industrial routers, is the first step towards remote diagnostics.

When a specific event occurs, an alarm is sent by SMS or email to alert the maintenance engineer about the default on the machine. The SMS or email will state the concerned tag and its value. SMS and email facilitates the use of this feature, making it possible for the router to send email alerts with a dedicated SMTP server provided by Talk2M. It allows the sending of SMS even if the router is not equipped with a modem.
