Routeco's Packaged Solutions Strategy

Our Packaged Solutions Strategy is unique in terms of scope and resource.  As a direct result of our consultancy service and supply chain solutions, many diverse businesses have gained significant benefits with dramatic improvements in business efficiencies, cost savings and the deployment of “best of breed” technology.

This case study shows the packaged solutions strategy used to resolve customers issues.
The issues raised by the Hot Stamp Label making systems company include: the increasing costs of electrical materials; not owning the control technology due to the original use of 3rd party engineering; and the lack of standardisation across products.

The packaged solutions team assessed these issues and proposed several changes to solve them. The proposed solutions included: Routeco engineering resource to engage and understand technical issues and short to long term machine design aspiration; Routeco to examine the purchasing history and convert products to best technical solution at the lowest cost; Customer creates design spread-sheet and loads to Routeco website for live priced quotations.
These solutions were considered by the customers and the results were:
  • From 12 suppliers to 3
  • Previously 2 man days to kit machines BOM’s from store – now 0 days as it is delivered straight to the shop floor
  • New machine designs are now the fastest on the market with the customers owning a solution that exceeded expectation
