This case study shows the packaged solutions strategy used
to resolve customers issues.
The issues raised by the Hot Stamp Label making systems
company include: the increasing costs of electrical materials; not owning the
control technology due to the original use of 3rd party engineering;
and the lack of standardisation across products.
The packaged solutions team assessed these issues and
proposed several changes to solve them. The proposed solutions included:
Routeco engineering resource to engage and understand technical issues and
short to long term machine design aspiration; Routeco to examine the purchasing
history and convert products to best technical solution at the lowest cost;
Customer creates design spread-sheet and loads to Routeco website for live
priced quotations.
These solutions were considered by the customers and the
results were:- From 12 suppliers to 3
- Previously 2 man days to kit machines BOM’s from store – now 0 days as it is delivered straight to the shop floor
- New machine designs are now the fastest on the
market with the customers owning a solution that exceeded expectation
